Dr. Dishell is a facial plastic surgeon who has been in practice in Encino, California since 1971. A graduate of University of Michigan Undergraduate and Medical Schools, Dr. Dishell did his post-graduate training at the UCLA Medical Center where he specialized in Head & Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Dishell is a Diplomate of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American, California, and Los Angeles County Medical Associations.
Dr. Dishell is also well-known for his work as the Medical Advisor for television shows such as M*A*S*H, Medical Center, and Trapper John M.D.. In addition, Dr. Dishell was the medical reporter the NBC News from 1983-1985, and frequently appeared on ABC's A.M. Los Angeles as a medical consultant.
Dr. Dishell is a member of the BOTOX® Consensus Group-an international panel of experts that developed the guidelines on the use of BOTOX® Cosmetic for aesthetic enhancement of the face and neck. He is also a member of the BOTOX® Educator's Faculty that specializes in the training of physicians from all over the world about the use of this wrinkle reducing medication.
Dr. Dishell specializes in cosmetic surgery of the nose and eyelids, and performs over 300 facial plastic surgery procedures a year. He is also the Director of The Encino Outpatient Surgery Center (EOSC); a same-day facility which specializes in the outpatient care of facial plastic surgical patients.
