BOTOX® is safe. BOTOX® is FDA approved for the temporary reduction of lines in-between the eyebrows. Yet, many patients are still afraid to try BOTOX®- they fear the "frozen" look. The truth is, when you have BOTOX® administered by a trained facial plastic surgeon, like Dr. Dishell, you have no reason to be afraid.
Dr. Dishell is a member of the BOTOX® Consensus Group-an international panel of experts that developed the guidelines on the use of BOTOX® Cosmetic for aesthetic enhancement of the face and neck. He is also a member of the BOTOX® Educator's Faculty that specializes in the training of physicians from all over the world about the use of this wrinkle reducing medication.
What is BOTOX® and how does BOTOX® work?
BOTOX® is a purified protein. Dr. Dishell will administer BOTOX® via a few injections to the desired areas. BOTOX® will prevent the movement of the muscles in the treated area, by blocking the nerve impulses.
Once muscle movement is reduced, this can take up to approximately one week after your initial treatment, the skin's surface will gradually smooth out, and you will notice the lines in your face will begin to fade.
The effects of BOTOX® can differ in patients. Most of Dr. Dishell's patients return for repeat treatments every four months. If you decide that BOTOX® is not for you, the treated areas will return to normal pre-treated appearance.
Please consult with Dr. Dishell if you have more questions about BOTOX®.
