What are Collagen-Zyplast® & Zyderm® and how does they work?
Collagen is a type of protein, that connects and supports bodily tissues. Collagen is one of the most plentiful proteins present in the human body. Zyplast® and Zyderm® collagen implants are composed of highly purified bovine dermal tissue that mimics our own collagen.
A Collagen skin test is required four weeks prior to your actual treatment. This skin test is used to determine any preexisting allergies to the product. If no allergy is detected Dr. Dishell can inject the implant in a simple office appointment. Each Zyplast® and Zyderm® implant contains a small amount of anesthetic themselves that begins working immediately that effectively makes your treatment tolerable.
Zyderm® and Zyplast® are FDA-approved to treat and fill in fine to deep wrinkles, frown lines, smile lines, crow's feet, the lip border, acne and other scars.
Most patients repeat treatments every three to six months, but individual results vary.
